Here are some recipes to make your own homemade green cleaners. This is a great way to avoid toxic cleaners and do something that's good for your health and the environment. If you are looking for readymade cleaners, see green cleaning products.

Window Cleaner

1/4 tsp Liquid Detergent
3 Tbsp Vinegar
2 cups Water

Put all the ingredients into a spray bottle and shake. Use your new green cleaner as you would with a window cleaning product.

Kitchen & Bathroom Cleaner

1/2 cup Baking Soda
Liquid Detergent

Pour the baking soda into a bowl and add enough liquid detergent to make a texture like frosting. Use your new green cleaner with a sponge or cloth to wash surfaces. This is a good replacement for traditional bathtub and sink cleaners.

All-Purpose Spray Cleaner

1/2 tsp Washing Soda
1/8 tsp Liquid Detergent
2 cups Hot Water

Combine ingredients in a spray bottle and shake until the washing soda has dissolved.

Oven Cleaner

1 cup Baking Soda
Water
1 tsp Liquid Detergent

Sprinkle water generously in the bottom of the oven, then cover with baking soda (surface should look white). Sprinkle more water over the top and leave it overnight. The next day, wipe it up and finish cleaning with some liquid detergent.

Mould Killer

White Vinegar

Pour white vinegar into a spray bottle and spray the mouldy area. Let stand for 2-3 hours.
