Scott A. BennettScott Bennett is the owner of Wooden It Be Nice - Custom Woodworking and has built this sustainability website as a way to give back to the communtiy.

In 2006, Scott discovered a passion for green living after reading the National Best Seller, The Weather Makers by Tim Flannery. Since then, Scott has made both his personal and professional life more sustainable.

Living a green lifestyle is something that evolves over time. Scott and his family have reduced many of their impacts on the environment. The Bennett home went through an energy audit, subsequent improvements, and has solar panels on the roof which generate electricity. The family eats more local food and grows vegetables at home. Scott's family also uses green cleaners and personal care products.

At home, Scott is a sustainability advocate in his community. He has written many articles for the local newspaper that feature people and businesses that are reducing their impact on the environment (see Green Success Stories). Scott was a part of the Whitby Sustainability Advisory Committee, which provides advice to Whitby Council on how the town and residents can contribute to a vibrant community with fewer environmental impacts.

Scott has contributed to the Greening Greater Toronto report on Paper Procurement. He was also a member of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce Energy and Environment Committee.

ToastmastersScott also spent over 5 years engaged with a Toastmasters International speaking club to build his public speaking abilities and earned a Competent Toastmasters (CTM) Award in 1998.

With the unique blend of Scott's skills, abilities and passion, he has become an inspirational motivator for others to embrace sustainability.

Scott has a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration.
